St John's is the second largest Catholic cathedral in the UK. After nearly a century as the parish church of the Catholic community in Norwich it became the mother church of the new diocese of East Anglia in 1976.
The Narthex is the Cathedral of St John the Baptist's new Heritage Lottery Funded visitor centre. It comprises an Education & Interpretation Gallery, a shop, a refectory with outdoor patio, a function hall, licensed bar and community garden. With level-access and excellent facilities, the Narthex is an ideal location to discover more about the Cathedral or just to relax in a beautiful and tranquil setting.
The Narthex at St Johns is unique - With the dimensions of a large village hall, yet an absolutely amazing location in the heart of the city with amazing photo opportunities it has lots going for it.
Plus most people don't know the Narthex is there - so it's very unique, yet has everything you could need either on site or very nearby.
