Southwood Hall near Freethorpe, Norwich

Southwood Hall is licensed to host Civil Ceremonies including marriages, civil partnerships and the renewal of vows either within Coronation Barn or under our garden rotunda. We would be pleased to host your civil ceremony and have a number of options you might like to consider in planning your day. Each service can be personalised to your exact taste and we can work with you and the Registrars to suggest readings, music, musicians and singers to enhance your ceremony.

Within Coronation Barn the majority of ceremonies take place in front of the glass doors to the terrace and we refer to this as our registry area however the Registrar’s table can be located anywhere within the barn whilst screened from the bar. We can accommodate 160 seated guests at a ceremony within the barn with seats extending from the front door to the Registrar’s table, 70 guests can be accommodated in the registry area alone. After your ceremony the barn is transformed into your reception venue.

The Garden Rotunda is also licensed for civil ceremonies with the registry table, couple and witnesses all positioned under the canopy. Your guests are seated on the lawn in the open air. You may prefer to make your arrival via the terrace or an aisle on the lawn.

We are also pleased to be a venue that offers Duo Ceremonies allowing your ceremony to be located anywhere on our site with the Registry table and formal exchange taking place either within the barn or under the Rotunda.
